Our top five social media tips
1. Be honest – Don’t say anything misleading or inaccurate.
2. Be friendly and natural – Social media is not the place for formal PR. Be relaxed and conversational and you’ll find that people respond more. Personal and authentic is the way to go!
3. Participate – Get involved in conversations and respond to other people. Social media is not one-way communication and if you don’t get involved with others they won’t get involved with you.
4. Get your staff and volunteers involved in your social media too – they are the best representatives and can provide a personal voice to your project.
5. Act in real time - social media is about responding quickly. If you take too long to reply or to comment on events the moment will have passed you by!
