Volunteers

digital-champion copyThe 3,800 UK online centres across England are run with the help of an army of more than 15,000 volunteers. If you're a UK online centre, recruiting volunteers and  Digital Champions could help you extend your work with extra classes or outreach sessions, bring specific expertise you don't have in-house, and ease the pressures on other staff.

Digital Champions are people who help others get started with computers and the internet. There's lots of different ways of being a Digital Champion – from donating old IT equipment to inspiring a friend or family member to give online life a go, or even volunteering at a local UK online centre. Find out more on the official Digital Champions website - www.champions.go-on.co.uk

Recruiting, managing and retaining volunteers can be hard work, but we've got a whole host of resources in this section to help you make the most of Digital Champions in your delivery.
